The purpose of M\u00e1di K\u00f6r<\/h2>\n

To ensure the quality of wines produced by the members of the M\u00e1di K\u00f6r. furthermore, the origin protection of the wines based on the requirements of the M\u00e1di K\u00f6r\u2019s members. to protect the natural values and landscape. to create the m\u00e1di wine as a unique concept aiming to lay the foundation for market success.<\/p>\n

Types of the M\u00e1d quality and origin protection<\/h2>\n

  2. d\u0171l\u0151<\/li>\n
  3. sz\u0151l\u0151<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Yield (q\/ha)<\/strong><\/p>\n

    • k\u00f6zs\u00e9gi wine: 50 q\/ha<\/li>\n
    • d\u0171l\u0151 wine: 40 q\/ha<\/li>\n
    • sz\u0151l\u0151 wine: 30 q\/ha<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Age of the vine<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • k\u00f6zs\u00e9gi wine can not be made of younger vine than 6 years old<\/li>\n
      • d\u0171l\u0151 wine can not be made of younger vine than 8 years old<\/li>\n
      • sz\u0151l\u0151 wine can not be made of younger vine than 10 years old<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Specifications for the M\u00e1d and m\u00e1di d\u0171l\u0151 wines<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • 4000 vines per hectare in newly planted vineyard sites;<\/li>\n
        • wines with a m\u00e1d designation of origin may only come from vineyards where the vines are pruned by the
          \nEnd of march at the latest, and if such vineyards are weeded or mowed at least twice, and where the grapes
          \nAre harvested at the right time and are not affected by any fungi or bacteria, except for the fungus
          \nBotrytis cinerea;<\/li>\n
        • vines shall be at least 6 years old;<\/li>\n
        • the maximum allowable yield is 7500 kg\/ha of healthy, ripe grapes (where there are more than
          \n4000 vines per hectare, the maximum allowable yield should be calculated by multiplying the above figure by 1.4);<\/li>\n
        • varietal wines shall be 100 per cent made from the same grape variety;<\/li>\n
        • the allowable grape varieties shall be furmint, h\u00e1rslevel\u0171 and s\u00e1rga muskot\u00e1ly, as well as any blends thereof<\/li>\n
        • the minimum potential alcohol by volume shall be 11 per cent<\/li>\n
        • the wine styles may be dry, off-dry, late harvest, szamorodni, asz\u00fa and eszencia<\/li>\n
        • the maximum allowable yield per hectare for late harvest and szamorodni wines may be half of the weight of grapes at full technological maturity;<\/li>\n
        • the maximum allowable yield per hectare for asz\u00fa wines may be 20 per cent of the weight of grapes at full technological maturity;<\/li>\n
        • 1 kilogram of botrytised grapes can be used to produce a maximum of 1.4 litres of asz\u00fa wines;<\/li>\n
        • non-traditional wine styles may be released in glass bottles sized at 0.375 litre, 0.5 litre, 0.75 litre or 1.5 litres, as well as any larger glass bottles that comply with international standards;<\/li>\n
        • traditional botrytised wine styles may be released in glass bottles sized at 0.375 litre, 0.5 litre and 1.5 litres; the use of unique bottles is subject to permission by the board elect;<\/li>\n
        • if released in bottles up to and including 1.5 litres in size, dry and off-dry wines shall come in bottles type \u201ctokaj antik\u201d, with an embossed tokaj lettering, as well as variants of the same with identical proportions;<\/li>\n
        • in-house brand names are allowed on the packaging, but names of d\u0171l\u0151s [i.e. Single-vineyards] may only be listed on the back label;<\/li>\n
        • the maximum allowable font size for the address of the producer on a 0.75-litre bottle shall be 5mm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Requirements for the m\u00e1di d\u0171l\u0151 designation of origin<\/h2>\n

          All of the above requirements for the m\u00e1d designation of origin, plus<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \n
          • vines shall be at least 10 years old;<\/li>\n
          • a maximum allowable yield of 5000 kg\/ha of healthy, ripe grapes;<\/li>\n
          • the allowable grape varieties shall be furmint or h\u00e1rslevel\u0171, with no blending permitted, so all wines
            \nshall be varietal;<\/li>\n
          • dry wines shall be aged in barrels for a minimum of 6 months;<\/li>\n
          • the wine styles may be dry, szamorodni, asz\u00fa and eszencia;<\/li>\n
          • the name of the d\u0171l\u0151 [i.e. single-vineyard] shall be in the largest font size on the label; the use of a different brand name is allowed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
